Welcome to the forum!
Firstly, we need a suitable thread title. What exactly are you trying to do with that formula?

Hi,
I am trying to write a formula using multiple cells within a row (not consecutive), where any of the cells = a certain letter, then give answer "Y", if not leave blank.
This was one of my attempts that didn't work;
=IF(OR(X1="A",AB1="E"),"Y",""))
Any help would be most welcome.
Many thanks
Remove last closing bracket. You are opening 2 and try to close 3.

Thanks, tried that but it still does not work.
What you mean 'does not work'? Error? Wrong result?
Attached file with some sample data, if You can.
