I am trying to digitalise a booking system, can someone help please?
I am an agent for a skipper who runs boat trips - I need to create the equivalent of a handwritten bookings diary (which I have used or many years)
Each day needs up to 6 different trip types, no one day has the same times that they start. Some are one hour, some 2 and some 3. Each one fits up to 12 people on, which can be booked by singles, or families etc
Each booking needs to record the time it starts, the type of trip (length etc), name, contact number, number of people in that group, whether they are adults or children (different price for kids),the total cost, the addition of a small booking fee, the total they paid and if the trip has to be cancelled due to inclement weather-the total that was then refunded. Each trip then needs a total number of people that are booked in.
THe total figures for the day then need to be added up into a settlement document to reconcile what is paid to the skipper.
As you can see it is rather complicated! I have messed around with some spreadsheets but someone suggested maybe Access would be better?
I cannot seem to find any advice online as its difficult to know what to describe it as!
