Conditional Formatting for Multiple Cells from one column to the next

    Morning,

I am trying to colour cells based on the corresponding column. In the example attached, if B1 has the value of 1 then I want it to colour A1 green, if it has a value of 3 colour it red, and if not value then leave it blank.

Using conditional formatting I have been:
    - selecting cell A1
    - selecting the wizard
    - selecting 'Use a formula to determine which cells to format'
    - I am having to use the formula =$B$1=1
    - then selecting the colour green

Is there any way I can select multiple cells, rather than doing this for each cell?

Thanks for any help you can give.

Repeating what I said originaly, before the admin request.

Select the whole range that you want to format before you select the wizard, then use a relative formula instead of absolute, i.e remove the $ symbols to that it becomes

    =B2=1
