Pivot Report Best Practices?

I start a new job as an entry level data analyst next week and I'm trying to brush up on my Excel Skills. I know that I will be asked to create a Pivot Report Table and I was wondering how you would format it to make it presentable to people.

I'm looking for some learning material or suggestions - What are some best practices that are good to follow?

Good luck with your new job

with pivot tables, often you need to input Data into the data source in to get the exact result you expect
ie the data you get may not be enough to generate the pivot table....use formulas in data source (rather than calculated fields)

i'm a sucker for classic layout, just find it reads and acts the way it should
Pivot slicers are nice, try not to overuse though
