    Conditional Formatting / COUNTIF

I have a workbook that logs participants to events monthly and just logging if they no-showed. I would like to keep a running roster of just the no-shows on a separate sheet within the workbook. I thought I could use COUNTIF or SUMPRODUCT, but maybe I'm not setting it up correctly. I want it to search the workbook for a name and count how many times they have an "x" in the no show column.

    Is something like this possible?

I think we might need a little more info - can you possibly attach a test sheet? With fake data, but that would mirror the results you want - you can generate fake data here.

Right now I don't see why you couldn't do: =COUNTIF('TAB'$A:$A,"X")
