Question Password protected Excel Shared File unlocked automatically

    Dear All,

    Seeking for your kind help!

I've created one excel file (2013) where I've given access to multiple people by different password. Everything is perfect like multiple people can access at the same time by their own password, track changes also working properly.

But the problem is just after some days (4 to 5 ) i'm observing some of the fields are becoming unlocked automatically. Means it's not asking for password. I'm the only person have admin password.

Would you please help me what is the root cause of the said issue and how can I solve it permanently?

    Regards
    Uzzal

It's not that some are unlocking automatically, more likely that a user has unlocked them with their password and not locked them again afterwards.

Re: Password protected Excel Shared File unlocked automatically

    Dear Mr. Jason,

Thank a lot for your response!

It doesn't need to lock again after putting some information. It'll be automatically locked/ protected after logging off or save.

    Regards
    Uzzal

So you have a BeforeClose event in the ThisWorkbook vba module to re-apply the protection?

A user not allowing macros to run or an error in another procedure that is leaving events set to false are just 2 things that could prevent your code from running and reapplying the protection.
