Price plus sales tax equals cell value--the formula is . . . ?

If you want to calculate a price plus sales tax, can you do that in a single cell or must the sales tax price appear in a separate cell, as you see in the image I've attached?

If it can all be done within the contents of a single cell, would you mind posting the way that formula is written? I am at best a rare and occasional user of Excel, so . . .

Well, I was going to post a screen shot here, but I can't figure out how to do it. It goes something like this:

    Price Tax Total
    1889.10 122.79 1911.89

Can you eliminate the Tax column and have the results of the calculation appear in the Total column?

    What is the tax percentage?

    Try this:

    =A1*1.065

where A1 contains the base cost and the tax is 6.5%.
