Additional spacing within text string in formula bar

Can anyone please enlighten me as to why I have an additional space between ">" and "Serological Typing" in my data when the text string in cell C2 of the attached sample data is viewed in the formula bar? And also how I can possibly remove this additional space from every cell in a column without having to manually delete it within the formula bar for each cell, please?

I've attached some sample data in which I used the TEXTJOIN function in C3 to join the text strings in A3 & B3 together. I then copied the result of the formula and pasted values back in to C2. As you can see, this then leaves an additional space between ">" and "Serological Typing" when viewing the result in the formula bar, which isn't present in the cell.

The extra space you are seeing is not a space, it's a tab character.

Your file just has data values in it. To understand what is going on we need to see a file that has actual formulas that produce the results you are getting. What is the exact TEXTJOIN formula you are using? What delimiter are you using? I do not get the same result as you when I write a TEXTJOIN formula to do this.

Also, if you view the result in the formula bar, you would see your formula. It's not clear how you are using a formula but viewing text in the formula bar.

    Thank you!

Confirmation that it's a tab character is all I needed. I've found that I can use the =CLEAN function to remove it from the text strings in my data.

Glad to help. I still can't figure out how it's getting there in the first place, and generally addressing root causes is better than cleaning up later.
