Hi,
I am looking for a excel formula that can calculate the filled liquid in a horizontal elliptical tank based on tank length, height, elliptical width and height of the liquid level in the tank. I have formula for cylindrical tanks but cannot find for elliptical tanks. Calculations should be in metric please.
Any assistance would be highly appreciated!

It's an Excel Tank Volume calculator I designed several years ago for a client. You may be able to adapt it.

It must be a issue on my side... the shared file opens on the drive but corrupts when downloaded to my PC. No idea why.

Are you looking just for the Excel equations (you already know the general geometry/engineering equations and don't know how to program them into Excel) or is it more about finding the general geometry/engineering equations (which then need to be translated into Excel)?
Assuming it is really the latter question, a quick internet search found this document (http://www.webcalc.com.br/blog/tank_volume.pdf ) that describes how to calculate filled volume for several tank types (including elliptical). I didn't look through it in detail, expecting that it would be easier for someone already familiar with the calculations to extract the necessary equations and formulas than myself. If you can help us understand the equations you need to put into Excel, we should be able to help you program them into Excel.
