[ANSWERED] Autocalculate a Work Sheet , not Work Book

    Good morning all,

I can calculate a work sheet Manually, and then the other work sheets are not calculated.

But is it also possible to calculate a work sheet Automatically without calculating the whole workbook ?

    Thanks

    Duncan

No. Auto/Manual Calculation is an application setting, not a workbook or worksheet setting.

The way calculation is done can be managed somewhat in VBA (e.g., set Calculation to manual but force calculation of a sheet when that sheet is changed), but given that you are in the Basics subforum I wasn't sure if you wanted to go there.

    Thanks Gstring

As exoected it is not possible. I posted my question in this forum because it is a basic question.

I have about 10 work sheets with small tables but one has a table with about 2 million cells and many calculations / lookups / ifs / et cetera. Is that one table that makes it impossible (unless one wants to wait a few minutes during each calculation) to set calculations to automatic.

I guess I keep it on manual for now and will hit the calculate button when required. But in case it does not slow down the workbook I might give the VBA a try. Will look for a related thread elsewhere in the forum.

    Merry Christmas !
