You have no formulas in G4 in any sheets
Attach the file here, please.

You need to use this:
=SUMPRODUCT(--(LEN(H8:H18)>0))
to prevent "" containing cells (that just LOOK empty).

Thanks! How come they "just look empty"? What did I put in them? And what are the two hyphens you put in there for? And is there something in Excel I can use to check cells for invisible contents?
someone else, maybe another mod said it was okay to link to cloud file. The reason I wanted to do that was so I could make changes easily. Can I do it maybe with complicated issues that I may be working on the file while figuring out the solution?
The formuale in column H returned a "" if the criteria weren't met. Read this to see the difference between BLANK (in your case) and EMPTY cells. You need to use differnet formulae to count non-blank cells that contain formula blanks.
isn't excel wonderful??
https://colinlegg.wordpress.com/2014...pty/You're welcome.
It would be very nice if you were to just click the Add Reputation button at the foot of any of the posts of members who helped you reach a solution.
Finally, if that takes care of your original question, please select "Thread Tools" from the menu link (just above the first post in the thread) and mark this thread as SOLVED.
I meant to add... a lot of people don't like downloading cloud files, for security reasons. TbH, I'm not sure it makes much difference if you have good antiviral software ( I use ESET ). But, it is much handier if the file is directly available here on the EF.
I'll just use cloud if it becomes complicated and I have to work with the file to help others help me figure out a solution
??? I am confused. Did I solve your problem, or not? If not...what's wrong. Post a sheet showing where it didn't work.
