Need help with conditional formatting rule

I'm using "Use a formula to determine which cells to format" and in the formula bar I simply click the cell in the sheet I want cells formatted with equal value, and it fills in the bar correctly with "=$H$6" which has a value of 15 saved like this the entire column is formatted, regardless the values. Am I misunderstanding this formatting rule?

Hi Juntjoo,

You need to select the range that the CF applies to before jumping to the formula part. Watch:

Thanks. I'll refer back to this thread if I ever run into an issue with that rule. I tried the "format cells that contain..." which worked so I won't argue. Thanks though!
