Hi there, I'm trying to utilize excel and subtotals in order to organize some information. I need to have all rows grouped by Column H/Email Address (see example file), with space(s) separating them. I've achieved this by using subtotals.
Once the data is subtotalled, I'd like to then sort all the data by Column E/Full Name, while retaining the sub total groupings. The date in Column E/Full Name is manually adjusted to all be the same after Column H/Email Address is subtotalled, so I cannot subtotal by Column E/Full Name. The info in Column E/Full Name will always be the same within a specific subtotalled group once I've manually checked it over.
I'm not familiar enough with subtotalling to know if this is possible and/or if there's a better way to this.
Additional notes:
- the subtotal numbers (numbers of rows with in a group/subtotal) are helpful, although not required so if a solution overwrites or erases those that's okay.
- I do not need the subtotal "title" of the email address (Column F) at all, so if there's a way to replace any cell with data in Column F with the first or last data in a group in Column E/ Full name and then sort by that, this is totally fine.
- Preferable to be able to scroll through all data at once, vs cycling through any filtered lists. But would possibly be open to this if it could be automatically alphabetized.
- If there's a completely different way to approach this I'm open to it. The important points are 1) Must be groupable by Column H/Email Address and visually separated into bundles, then data sorted by Column E/Full Name while maintaining the
email addresses "bundles".
File is attached, but here's a screenshot as well.
