    Formatting - adding new rows

    hi,

    i often present my data in a format like in the attached picture. However if i need to insert a row in, the colour coding goes out of sequence. (i.e. 2 blues in a row)

    what is the quickest way to recover the pattern?

    is it to take a copy of the table in format and paste format over again?

    If you use a Structured Table, with row and column striping, it should adjust automatically.

    Or you could use conditional formatting on your range

    Condition 1 formula
    =MOD(ROW(),2)=0
    Then choose your format colour for even rows

    Condition 2 formula
    =MOD(ROW(),2)=1
    Then choose your colour for odd rows.

    When you insert, formatting adjusted automatically.

    Yes. Select the range you want to format first. But not "based on their values". Choose the Formula option at the bottom of the list.
