Format a number into a percentage without changing the number on the formula bar

Hi, I have a problem.
I have a cell with a number like 0.48412 and I right click --> format cells --> Percentage (decimal places:2).
As a result I get 48.41% on the cell as expected but on the formula bar I get 48.412%.
Instead on the formula bar I would like to have the NOT formatted decimal number 0.48412.

I thought that formatting a cell was just for a visual purposes, however on my excel it actually changes the number on the formula bar from 0.48412 to 48.412%.

Is there a way to prevent this to happen?
