    Quick Type In Date

What formula would I use to type in a date without slashes and have it come out with slahes in the same cell?

    EXAMPLE:

type in 31805 and have it show as 3/18/05

shortcuts will work for the current year, eg you can type in 31/8 and it will automatically enter 31/08/2005 in the formula bar, the cell can be formatted to display whatever date style you want. For different years it won't work.

A couple of key presses worth remembering are: To type the day's date, press Control and the semi-colon key - 18/03/05 (UK), and Control, Shift and the semi-colon for the current time - 20:17.

Use the Custom format option and enter this 'Type':

    #"/"##"/"##

Note that you will need to enter two digits for the center portion of your date. e.g. for 03/09/05 you will need to enter 30905
