You have to have data on your sheet. Look in Tools/Options/View Tab. At
the bottom you have window options. Make sure gridlines is checked. It
will still print the gridlines if you set the Print properties to print
gridlines but you won't see them in your edit view.

Is Draft Quality checked in Page Setup Sheet? Uncheck if it is.
