Text in cells

Please can someone help with entering text into cells.

I have a spreadsheet where I have a cell containing wrapped text and the ALT ENTER function is being used. The text gets to a certain point and stops wrapping but the ALT ENTER function still works. Is there a limit to the number of characters that a cell will wrap? Or is there something else?
Maybe I am just trying to put too much info into 1 cell?!

try writing the text without alt enter,
then select wrap text
