    drop down boxes

Hi All this is my first post and my first real attempt at using excel for a major task.

I am after creating a spreadsheet to log calls and produce reports. I have figured out how to collate my data and create reports using a pivot table. BUT i dont know how to create drop down boxes that are dependent on the box before them. Also how do you create and option to add the selections to a different page? does any of this make any sense to anyone??? lol

It might help if you could attach a sample of your workbook including your desired results.

You can create simple dropdowns via Data > Validation and use named ranges and the INDIRECT formula to make simple dependent drop downs.

    Hello Darknight,

This is a follow up to Stephen's post about using Data Validation. Click on the link shown to learn more about using Data Validation. There are many examples that are easy to follow and setup. It is a good site for either a novice or advanced user.

    Contextures

    Sincerely,
    Leith Ross
