    Sorting question

I´m new using excel and I have a problem sorting a collection list, that calculate de date of the debt by days <30,
    >30<60,>60>90, and 90+ and the total days of the debt.
But when I sort the list by name the formulas do not sort with the name row and the list is a total disorder how can I sort with out loosing the information.
One more question, the total of days show the number 39363 and the date is not in yet, what can I do to show o on that cell ?

    Thanks

39363 is Excel's representation of a particular date (08 Oct 2007). To see it as a date, format it in some date format (Format > Cells > Number > Date).

If you have a column that computes due date, sort by that column.

Thanks for your reply; I want to comment you that the purpose of the total day of debt is to show the number of days since de debt.

And in the sort question, sort by due date is an option but I would like to sort by last name too, is this possible??

I will add an example of the work

Yes, Excel (through 2003) allows you to sort on up to three fields. You could sort by name and then date (grouping all delinquencies for a each person), or by date and name (gouping all people delinquent by the same number of days).

You have to select the entire range, rather than just sorting a particular column.

Would you like to post a meaningful sample of your data, with personal data removed?

deepdiver, that's the same thing you posted last time, and there's only one row of data. You can't sort one row of data -- that's what I meant by a "meaningful sample."

    Sorting made easy

    works fine for me.
select cell A3. hold your left mouse button down and drag it to cell T30. That is what is ment by selectint the range to be sorted.

Then go to the menu "Data>Sort" and select the radio button "Header Row".
From the drop down boxes select the order you want the data to be sorted.
    Select OK

    Hope this helps
