    Remove some characters

    Hi

I have a column of servers names, all ending in .****

    for example

    gbbqfcr879isp01.srv
    gbbqfdc001dcs04.srvm

What I want to do is create a new column with the same names but without the dot and everything after it,

    eg.

    gbbqfcr879isp01
    gbbqfdc001dcs04

Is there a way to do this - I have spent ages studying various formulae but can't find anything that works ...

    Thanks in advance,

    Clare
