the # of data records that correspond to the ticker symbols

the background - I'm downloading EOD data for AMEX, NASDAQ, NYSE to excel.

for example

the dilemma - the # of data records that correspond to the ticker symbols may vary each day for whatever reason. for e.g. if the correct close price is not in the correct row that matches the symbol then the data can't be filtered. I think rearranging everything manually is extremely time consuming and I'm not sure that it's worth the effort since

if anyone can offer a solution you have my undying gratitude and I'll be happy to share the strategy that I'm investigating with you ... for what it's worth ... haha

Can you post a sample of data that illustrates the problem, and explain the issue in the context of the data?

Would it be easier if I uploaded a couple days of actual data? That way for those who are so inclined they can get the best feel for the challenge.
