I recently downloaded an excel spreadsheet from betfair showing P&L for a days betting. The P&L column showed losses in brackets and profits without brackets, but my attempts to total the P&L column resulted in the answer 'zero'. Can anybody let me know how to total the column?

Hi,
Welcome to the forum, Excel is reading your "numbers" as text, if you select the range of cells L3:L23, then go the Data > Text to columns, then just click Finish, they should convert to proper numbers and your SUM will work.
