Average of Smallest 2 in set of 3

Hello,

This should be pretty easy but I'm fairly new to this.

I need to average the lowest 2 numbers (cells) of a set of 3 numbers or cells.

e.g. 2,4,6 average of lowest two is 3. or 12,18,19 - average of lowest two is 15.

Assuming you are looking at range A1:A3, try:

=AVERAGE(SMALL(A1:A3,1),SMALL(A1:A3,2))

=(SUM(A1:A3)-MAX(A1:A3))/2
