    Angry combining 2 forumals

    [QUOTE=cat1410]Hi Rylo
    Please let me know if you understand my question? This formula is originating from my workbook. I have 2 formulas that I created I would like to combine this 2 formulas together, to be able to combine Single item with double items.

    I have a calculation that calculates single item example =IF(C5="np",-1.1*B5,1*B5) ("np") means not paid.
    My calculations for double items is
    =IF(C39="db2",2.5*B39,IF(C39="db3",5*B39,-1*B39))
    "db2" means double 2 and "db3" is double 3

    I don't really know how to combine them together. If you could combine the IF formulas for me.

    Thanks again for your help.

    Hi

    1) I can't see that there is anything wrong with the formula you posted. Where is it falling over.
    2) Did you follow my instructions from my last post, copy down the formula and rework your example files?

    Unhappy combining 2 forumals

    Hi Rylo,
    (WHOLE NEW TOPIC, AND QUESTION.)
    No, There's nothing wrong with the formula that you gave me, and it will work great after I figure out how to combine 2 formulas together. I have my own formula that I created, that does calculation for my workbook. I would like to combine the 2 formulas together. The formulas are

    1. =IF(C5="np",-1.1*B5,1*B5)
    ("np") means not paid

    2. =IF(C39="db2",2.5*B39,IF(C39="db3",5*B39,-1*B39))
    "db2" means double 2 and "db3" is double 3

    Please let me know if you understand my question, Or should I create a new forum for my question, because this is a whole new subject.

    thanks

    Hi

    As it is a new topic, then yes you have to start a new thread. I've separated the 2 posts for you.

    If the first post hasn't been finished, then please BUMP the post with any new information.

    On this post, how can they be combined? You are talking about 2 different cells and each one has a finite answer. Can you explain what you would like to happen for the different scenarios - don't try to create formulas, or work out a solution, just explain what is supposed to happen for a given scenario.
