    Randomize

    Hi
I am looking for a macro or advice on how to create a specific randomiser function
B1 to B12 are Staff Names and A1 to A17 are task allocations. For instance Patrol 1, Patrol 2, Patrol 3, Patrol 4 ect. I need the sheet to randomize these patrols under the staff names, working on a 6 day turn around on the randomizer. Staff do have a day off so i need it to recognise a manually inputted "R" in a cell representing a day off so not to include that cell in random. Your pointers would be much appreciated
    Thanks in advance

It sounds like each staff area would be doing a random task for a period of 6 days and then switching? What happens to that task when they have the day off, another staff area takes it? There are more tasks than there are staff areas so staff areas can get multiple tasks? Do you have the Analysis Toolpak addin?

It should be part of your installation.

Under Tools>Addins it should be listed. Just put a checkmark next to it. It's not necessary but the RANDBETWEEN Function in there will make things simplier I think.

You didn't answer my other questions.

    randomizer

    Hi,
The task is allocated to another officer. However some staff have two days if its a holiday ect. It would have to be manually input into the cell i would of thought what do you think would be best?
