Unhappy Matching two spreadsheets for comparison purposes.

    Hey guys,

This is my first post, and I hope it gets worded properly.

I have two Excel files that I would like to compare part numbers for. I am the sys admin for an auto parts wholesaler, and we have two prices lists, one from the dealers, and the other from the manufacturer. What I would like to do is make a comparison of the two files, and match up the price and the part numbers, just to verify the match. I am using 2K7, and Excel has never been my strong suit. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Take the list that has more part #s, assumedly the manufacturer's list and, if the part # and price are in A and B, in column C, do something like =IFERROR(VLOOKUP(A1,'[Dealers list.xlsx]Sheet1!A:B,2,False),"") and drag down. This will return blanks for parts that appear in the manufacturer's list that don't appear in the dealer's list, but will return the dealer's price if the part # does exist in the dealer's list.
