(Mac Office 2008) How do you save a chart's format as a template?

OK, all I want to do is this: I've custom formatted a pie chart with fonts, colors and spacing, and I want to apply these properties to all my other pie charts. How in the world do I do this? The closest help I could find was this:

    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ex...eChartTemplate

It says when you click a chart, a Design tab magically appears in the "Ribbon"...where the hell exactly is this? I haven't done any weird config with my Office and I don't see this at all. Even so, there's nothing that I see in the menu options or various tool bars that would be relevant. Sorry to cuss, but it's unbelievable how unhelpful the Microsoft docs have been.
