Help with lookup
I have names of people with their information to the right of their name:
a b c d
john 25 89898 NV
jane 26 89898 NV
assuming that the name john is in A2 and Jane is in A3.
on sheet two I have a form where I can select the name from list in the "A" columb. How do I construct a formula to reconize the name and put their state in the "B1" field?

john Automatically pull state when name is selected?
Dont mean to be so breaky with the information but I am new at excel.

Have a look at Vlookup function in Excel Help files.....
e.g. =Vlookup(A1,Sheet1!$A$2:$B$3,2,FALSE)
adjust sheetname and range where your raw data is.
Where there is a will there are many ways.
