you haven't really expressed what you are trying to do.

we need to know the first how you want to "select" kiran.

then, we need to know the logic (reasons or arguements) that would divide the staff up below those headings.

without that info, there's nothing we can help you with.

Hi,sorry for that i have attached a fresh file to show the output i need.Instead of selecting the Name i would like to select the highest Mgr level in the drop down(combo box).In the attached file the highest level would be Mgr6.

Thanks and do let me know if you have need any other clarifications.

The logic behind your solution is very difficult to understand and unclear- your example file does not particularly clarify anything.

Am I correct in this interpretation:

You will enter the text "Mgr" and a digit in cell B17.
Based on the digit, you identify the MGR in column E ie if Mgr6 then Kamath is the relevant manager.
Then you identify the employee whose name is to the left of the manager identified in the previous step
The name of this employee is entered in cell B24 and the manager of this person is entered in cell C24. All subsequent names in D24, E24 etc are the managers of the preceding names.
In subsequent rows, you start with the name of the employee who is listed directly below the name entered in cell B24 and repeat much the same series of steps as above.

Please be very clear on the precise process you are aiming to achieve. Without absolute clarity nobody here can help you.
