restoring altered data

Hi, I've been working on a spreadsheet using excel 2003 at work. I made and saved some alterations that I shouldn't have. Is there any way I can restore the file back to its original content "before" I made the changes and "saved" them? It has taken months to compile this spreadsheet and now it is ruined unless I can undo my mistakes. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
