I want to input a name into a cell that will return a set calculation in another cell

I am a novice with excel and you have helped me before and it worked brilliantly, now unfortunately I need more assistance.
I have a spreadsheet that inputs hours of attendance for a person then returns a cost. Each person has a different rate i.e £2.50, £3.00 or £3.50 and different name. At the moment I input the calculation manually. I would like to be able to get the cost in a cell automatically from the name I input.
EG Input Freya in cell c1 and automatically put in cell j1 =k1*24*3.25
or Input Thomas in cell c1 and automatically put in cell j1 =k1*24*3.75
Any ideas?

Hi,

Which bits of that formula are dependent on Freya/Thomas et al. It suggests that it's just the last multiplier, i.e. 3.25, 3.75. In which case why not create a two column table of names and values, name the table range say 'Rates' and change the formula in J1 and copied down to:
