autofilter

Greetings,
New excel user here.

Have a spreadsheet where the top 3 rows are headings. Data starts in row 4.

Trying to set up an autofilter on the data where the "drop down" button appears in row 3. I make a cell in row 3 the active cell and click on autofilter but it automatically puts the "drop down" button in row 1 and not in row 3 where I want it.

Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong?

you need to select all columns used in row 3 not just the first cell
