    popup or dropdown selectabel list?

    hi i have a work sheet that i update daily and in the coments colum i am consistently entering the same comment i would like to have a popup or dropdown window in this colum were i can select an ecisting coment or a coment from a predefined list and enter it in to the coments cell, i also need to be able to enter a new comment if needed.
    can any one explain to me how to do this?

    Data validation -> choose LIST

    In list you can either write some datas (like a;b;c;Don't;yes;true;what's your name?) or pick some other cell...

    If you want to add other data you must uncheck box in Error Alert

    Edit: if you need same list in several cells.. just copy paste it

    thanks for that! but i donot know waht you are refering to and how to fill it in. i have just taken a look at data validation! and i do not know how it works. i am very new to this and am runing excel 2000 can you explain in more detail?

    point cursor on some cell...
    Go at Data -> Validation

    From drop down menu take List (like this)

    In soruce write whatever you want ( separate with ; )

    In Error Alert uncheck box...
