    Protection and Locked Cells

Is it possible to place a text box "over" a protected & locked cell? I have a paragraph of information that has a space where someone will need to enter various numbers but I'd like it so that they can't touch any part of the paragraph.

    Thanks!

    Hi TDempsey,

It's possible to put a textbox anywhere on your spreadsheet, whether it's over an unlocked cell or not. Question is what you want to do with the data entered into that textbox. Do you want it added to the protected cell, or printed as if it were included in that protected cell? Or just visible?

you can do it easily in a range of cells ...

    1. Make fonts color white of all protected cells .....

    2. Selected protected cells and apply Format > Cell > Protection > click Locked & hidden

Now protect the sheet. Users will not be able to see protected & hidden cells....
