I'm working on a budget sheet for one of my classes, and in some of the columns when I go to type in a sum of money it changes the numbers to ####. So instead of 100.00 I'd have ####. It doesn't happen in all of the columns. When I click to edit it the numbers show, but as soon as I click out of the box again the #'s would show up.
I have almost no experience with excel so I don't even know where to begin with trying to fix this problem.
your column is too narrow! drag it out a bit or doubleclick the line between say a and b at the top of the column

wow....that was so simple. I feel slightly embarrassed now. Thanks. Oh one more thing, also something probably very simple but....I need to put in the Qty of something but each time I just want to type in 1 or 2 it auto changes it to 1.00 or 2.00 I know there has to be a simple solution to this.
format cell as general instead of number or as number with 0 decimal places
