Filter based on cell value

Hello everyone

I want to filter a productivity sheet based on the content of cell B6

The sheet is filled in manually, but it would be better if only the relevant data was showing.
i.e. If I put 1 into cell b6, the only data showing would be for 1/Alpha, all the rest would be hidden. Any help would be appreciated

Go in A1 (normaly wold be A7 but you have mergad cells. If you can avoid merged cells in excel) and then add FILTER (data->Autofilter).

So you can filter your results by any number you like.

Many thanks for your prompt answer. The auto filter was considered but it isn't what I want, as the finished worksheet will have approx 60 names to filter.

Could I have names matched to numbers on another sheet, which when I put the number into the cell B6, it would pick up the corresponding name on the worksheet. Would something like a macro do what I need ???

Typical of a novice, I have had a play with a Macro and have managed to do a small part of what I need.

I have put in an Enter button which runs a Macro which in turn selects the No.1/Alpha. What I need now is for a Number to be in the cell to select the appropriate data rows.

Can anyone help please???
