    Creating Column/row headings

    Hello all,

I have a question about creating a column or row heading. Please bear with me while I try to explain. When ever I create a new spreadsheet I usually create it with the usual columns and rows with headings at the top. Say the first column heading is "PRICE". When I go to data/sort it always asks me what columns (A,B, C, D Etc.) I want to sort first, NOT by the name of the column; Price. How do I get Excel to recognize the name of the column with the range of cells that belong to it?
    Please help! Thanks, Snap

When performing a data sort, select my data range has header row. You'll then be able to sort by 'Price' or any other column heading.

What happens when you check the "has header row" option at the bottom of the sort dialog box? Have you tried changing the format of the header row to say, bold, 12 pt font (i.e., something larger than the data)?

I'll try both of those ideas. Thanks much for the tips.
