    Cool text column

    Hi

I have a column set as text and use numbers in it like 0001, 1100 etc.
If i edit these numbers they get the little green triangle in the corner of the cell that warns me that it is a number in a text cell. Now when I sort on this column these numbers sort separately at the bottom of my sort. How can I fix this so all number are seen the same and the formatting stays as text so I can have numbers with zeros in the front.

Format your cells, go to special
    enter your number format as
    0000
or however many 0's you need.
    =IF(AND(OR(BLONDE,BRUNETTE,REDHEAD),OR(MY PLACE,HER PLACE),ME),BOW-CHICKA-BOW-WOW,ANOTHER NIGHT ON THE INTERNET)

    Re: text column

I would highlight the ENTIRE column, click on FORMAT > CELLS > NUMBER > TEXT.

Once you have installed official "text" formatting on the entire range, you should be able to enter numbers in the cells and they will not be converted to numbers. You'll know because when you enter 123 and Excel sees it as a number, it usually moves to the right side of the cell, while text values stay flush left.
