If I typed data in descending, is there a way for me to copy-paste it so that it reads ascending, without having to re-type it all, or copy-pasting individual cells, etc?

Select the data, Data > Sort, ...
Entia non sunt multiplicanda sine necessitate
Is it just me? Because I can't see this at all.
That's what I had tried originally, thinking it would be obvious, but I can't for the life of me figure out where this function is.
The data is not in numerical order, or else it would be quite easy to figure out.
ex -
I want
Column A
6
8
5
2
To read:
Column A
2
5
8
6
Thanks to anyone who can point me in the right direction! I'm making power consumption data spreadsheets involving thousands upon thousands of entries...
