calculation changes to manual on excel

Hi,

sometimes, when I workon exisiting file, the calculations do not come out automatically., then I go to "options", & select the calculation to "Automatic".
I am surprised, as nobody changes to manual. why it is changing to Manual ? how to keep it permanently "Automatic"

Hi Shadmani,

Only thing I can think of is if you have a hidden workbook (e.g. Personal.xls) that opens in the background whenever you open this workbook, and in that file Calculation is set to manual?

If that is the case, unhide the other workbook, set calc to automatic and re-save the file. When you re-open the file hopefully it will stay auto.

The same worksheet when opened after a closure, it acts funny like this
No other sheet is opened.

If nothing else is opening in the background, then I'd suggest uploading a copy of the workbook for others to review.
