I can't edit my Excel spreadsheet

I cannot edit an excel spreadsheet that I had made. When I open up the file I can view everything but change nothing. The file is not saved as read-only. What can I do?

Go to the document and right mouse click it. Then select properties. Go down to where it says attributes and if the box that says read only is selected un click it press apply and then OK.

I right clicked inside the worksheet, but there was no category called Properties
