Question drop down lists referencing tables creating other drop down lists!!

    Hey Everybody,

I can't figure out how to make drop down lists appear in a cell when another cell's drop down list item is selected. I'll try to explain it better: Lets say there is a drop down list on SHEET A in cell B3 referencing a table on SHEET B. WHEN A,B, or C is selected from this dropdown list in Cell B3, I want another drop down list to appear below, and to the right, of the original drop down list in Cell B3 referencing either A,B, or C's respective tables on Sheet B. When END is selected from any of these tables then I want the original drop down in Cell B3 (A,B, and C drop down) to appear below and to the left of the END, so I can keep selecting categories and their respective sub categories. I hope I explained that well enough, I have attached a mock-up of the scenario layed out in a spreadsheet, I hope it helps and I hope you can help me out!! haha, Thanks Everybody!

Hi Stumped, welcome to the forum.

    'DEPENDENT DROP BOXES
These are called Dependent Drop Down lists and they use named ranges and INDIRECT() references in the proceeding drop boxes.

Here's a sample sheet I've posted showing how it's done. The sheet "CHOICES" has the dependent drop lists (and shows one of the dangers of using them) and the sheet "LISTS" shows the lists and named ranges in use.

    Have a look.
