    Referencing problem

Hello, part of my coursework for school is to make a pert chart, to do that i want to make boxes on excel with the required data.
To do this i want to put in a simple reference (EG =Sheet1!A2)
and drag the boxes down, but when i do this, the following happens:

    http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...had/excel1.jpg
    http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...had/excel2.jpg
    http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...had/excel3.jpg
    http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...had/excel4.jpg

Anyone know how to make it so it goes down by ONE for every box, instead of like 10?

    Thanks,
    Tom

it might be better if you just attached a work book with what actually happens and what result youd like

Thats the excel document, the data is on sheet 1, and the result i would like is to have the data shoved over onto sheet 2 with referencing, like the two examples that are on that page, but i would like a way to be able to add more by dragging the box and the grid refs go in sequence (EG, A2,A3,A4) instead of going A2,A14,A24, etc.

    Thanks

    Re: Referencing problem

    This slipped under my radar...

    Based on your sample file:

    Sheet2!B4
    =INDEX(Sheet1!C:C,1+COUNTIF($B$3:$B3,"Start"))
copied to other columns - change Column reference in INDEX accordingly (ie B, D)

Then copy B,E & G to other rows as required
