Simple IF function question (I Think :S)

Hi,
i am having a little function with excel. Basicaly what i wan it to do is if its place in a list is less than or equal to a value in a cell, display its contence. and if its place in a list is more than the value in a cell be blank.
i have tried to explain the problem as well as i can but if you need any more detais please ask, thanks in advanced.
