    Need help formatting a graph

    Hi All,

I have included my excel document and a paint file to show what I want to add to my graph.

    1. I have times along the x axis and I want to have the graph shaded for certain times of the day (6-9am) (9-5pm) (5-10pm).

    2. I want to connect the bars in the bar graph with a line (like having a bar and line graph on the same graph).

Thanks in advance, for the help.

    Hey thanks.

    1) How did you do it?

    2) I still need to know how to shade certain parts of the graph as shown in my wondrous paint file

    Thanks

Re: Need help formatting a graph

    You are welcome wetbean.

    1) I have used the bars as shown in your image, as a another data point which I have plotted on the right side of data, now using this I have created another line chart with smoothing option so that it look like a free hand drawn line.
    2) Shading on the chart is nothing but a object which is made transparent, see my chart(re-attached below) and click on any of the rectangle to understand better.

Feel free to get back in case you need more help.
