    Changing scale of bar chart

    Good morning,

I use excel to create bar charts and at times I need to change the scale of the horizontal axis. For example, we need to showcase oil reservoir qualities from point A to B. However, if we drill further than initially planned, we obviously need to extend our depth scale. When we extend the scale, the background grid increases laterally, however all the bars remain stationary and to not lock to the background.

Is there any way to lock these bars to the background grid so we do not have to manually adjust each bar?

    Thanks in advance.

Re: Question regarding changing scale of bar chart

Unfortunately I can not upload our workbook, however here is a before and after screen shot. Note the horizontal scale change, yet the bars do not adjust to scale:

    AFTER: http://s597.photobucket.com/albums/t...rent=after.jpg

    Thanks again!

Chris, please use the forum facilities to upload files. If you need help with Excel, please post an Excel file.
The images in the links are unintelligible and I don't see what the difference between the two thumbnails might be.
Create a data sample with a sample chart and post the file.
