How to reduce Excel database size

We have a database defined for "200" lines but the spreadsheet seems to save more that the active lines.

Is there another way to limit what the spreadsheet saves as it appears to save 65000 lines at 6.2mb. When I delete the blank row from line 200 to 65000 it reduces the size of the file to 112kb. This is what I want but not sure how it counts blank lines or how to avoid this happening again?

May be u have pasted formula in that sheet. If you will open a new file this won't happen again.
    Is it helpful to you?

As already pointed out it would seem you had a large / legacy "used range"

If you google Excel Bloat you should find quite a few links etc on this topic.
