    problem with date format

    i have an excel spreadsheet that i've been using for years. the first column has always been a series of dates. recently tho when i opened file the dates column is now unformatted i.e. just numbers. when i reformat to dates and save all looks fine until i reopen the file and its back to the way it was, i.e. numbers again. please help. thx

    Have you added any VBA code to the workbook or installed an excel addin recently?

    Maybe you can attach the workbook

    added pamfax from skype - i think problem occurred since then - can i undo things

    Not sure what pamfax is,try uninstalling it

    Do you mean that have tried uninstalling pamfax? If that didn't work attach the workbook

    one possibility have a look in custom formats and delete any that start [$-409]
