Full screen for charts in excel 2010

Hi - this is probably very simple, but has been driving me mad for the last couple of hours. I have just upgraded to from 2003 to 2010 excel.

My problem is I want full screen charts on a 24" monitor. ie stretch the x axis of the graph as the current options don't seem to allow me to strech the edges of the graph as they did in 2003 version of excel.

When I get to page layout options there are about 20 different options but the customer just sends me to a print option (I think).

My excel skills are pretty basic and my spreadsheets are simple - but quite long in data so having a full screen of the graph would be very useful.

Thank you in advance if anybody can help me.

    Paul

You should be able to alter the plot area to fill the chart just as you could in 2003, or is that not what you mean?

    Hi Romperstomper

    Thank you for your reply

I have right clicked on the worksheet that is the chart and I have tried various adjustments - including horizontal axis but all it seems to allow me to do is change fonts, colours etc.

My worksheet has the graph across the page but has large sections that are light grey to the sides. I have tried clicking on the border and then dragging it wider but as soon as I do this the icon changes to a +. If I change layout to double A4 (landscape) then the grapgh becomes to big to fit on one screen - all the other options are worse than landscape A4 zoomed to 115% - any higher then the y axis gets too large for the screen.

    Thanks

    Paul

I hope I am explaining the problem correctly

Got you. With a chart sheet, the scaling is done based on how it will print, so you would have to alter the margins in order to make the chart wider. You can also minimise the Ribbon so you have more vertical space to play with (and hence your chart will get wider too)
